Project Description:
The Ava Center skylight demonstrates how geometry can break free from convention while remaining deeply rooted in technical precision. This freeform, single-layer spaceframe pushed the boundaries of standard design processes, prompting our team to develop custom parametric workflows tailored to its unique challenges. Through design automation, geometry optimization, and DfMA-oriented detailing, we delivered a fully coordinated and fabrication-ready model. Notably, the project's complexity led to the creation of the first version of Caddisfly for Grasshopper, a plugin that has since evolved into a powerful surface analysis tool.
